Simple....or Not?

Sometimes the easiest solution is the simplest. Yesterday I spent a good 30 minutes taking apart this Crayola kids' projector that the kids rediscovered in the closet. It didn't work so I took it all apart, replaced the lightbulb, put in new batteries. Still didn't work. So I literally took it all apart, checked the wires, etc., unscrewed every tiny little screw. Still didn't work. Finally I took the original lightbulb (which I had assumed was burnt out) and put it back in. Ta da!!! Come to find out the lightbulbs I tried to put in were burnt out (brand new by the way). WHY didn't I just replace the batteries and then see if it worked? I don't know, I guess I was feeling all fixer upper or something. Maybe I like to make things more complicated than they need to be. Maybe I am a woman, okay?! Breathe, breathe..... Next time, just try new batteries.

We'll See

Today Liam had a friend over and when it was time to take him home, he wanted to know if Liam could come to his house and play right then. I said "We'll see..." and he quickly responded "We'll see means yes." Smart kid.

Scout

Yesterday we brought home our new lab puppy, Scout. We got the dog from Adam's brother and were able to pick him out a couple weeks ago over Easter weekend. We tried to pick the most mellow dog, so far he has been great. Why not add a little more chaos to our already crazy lives? We are excited to have him!

Ducks in the Pond Quack a Happy Song...oh wait

Oh Wait....it's not a pond...it's the giant hole next to our house. And yes those are Mallard ducks. Luke was trying to feed them bread. If we ever try to sell our house we can add that it has a giant pool! Can you tell I am a little bugged by this situation? Seriously...

The Hole

Dear Construction Workers/Developer or whoever can PLEASE fix this,

Several weeks ago you dug a giant hole/death trap/toy magnet 5 feet away from our house. Since then it has rained and snowed and now it has also become a large wading pool/death trap. It would be just grand if you could please suck the water out and actually build a house there, instead of playing cards in the back of a trailer like I saw you doing yesterday...okay maybe it was your lunch break, but still. I promise I will not give you dirty looks and roll my eyes if you park a concrete truck in the middle of the street (only if you are pouring concrete for the house next to us). I do in fact value my children's lives and think safety is important.

Kyle Korver

So Grace's first celebrity crush is none other than Kyle Korver of the Utah Jazz. He came to her school because they won for the Jazz Reading contest. She and Luke both brought home copied autographed pictures of him. She cut hers up and put it on a flower that is hanging in her room. Then she stole Luke's and refused to give it back. I had to make a copy which she immediately cut up and made the following "craft" with.

Ahh, young love. At least she has good taste.

So for a while I have been wondering at this middle sign as I drive by Hollywood Video...FREE KIDS?! Really? No thanks.

I noticed yesterday that they are going out of business, must be all the free stuff they are giving away, like free kids. Geesh.
