Stretchy Ears...and Corn on the Cob?

Today we decided to make the treat of the month from this magazine we get, Family Fun. It is always fun to do stuff like this with the kids. We made Corn on the Cobcake. Can you guess our ingredients?

The kids making a funny face - that is the neighbor girl by Grace, they are inseparable.

The classic face I usually manage to snap when I take pictures of either Adam or Luke.

More Gymnastics!

Allright this one is right side up. Enjoy! And I know it looks like she has pink tights on but that is just my genetics showing....those are her pale marshmallow legs, just like mine. I'm so proud....

Sideways....but Worth It

Okay I know this video is sideways....I forgot that unlike when I take normal pictures, I can't rotate the video to the way I want it. Or maybe I can but I don't know how....any ideas? Anyway, this is of Grace on the trampoline at gymnastics. I love this part the best, I could die laughing, it is so cute and funny. If you would like to turn your head sideways, you are welcome to watch it too! Or you can watch the next one that I remembered to turn the camera the right way, but it's not quite as cute. Enjoy!

Lessons

We are having so much fun at the rec center this month! Luke is taking swimming and Grace is doing gymnastics. They are both doing great and Liam and I love cheering them on from the sidelines!

Luke learning how to float on his back and kick his legs.

Beautiful

Okay so I felt the need to clarify something I said before when I was talking about my dad. He said he hoped that neither he nor I would get in trouble for me saying that I got all my good looks from him. I just want to say that my mother is beautiful and if I looked like her I would be beautiful too, but basically I think I look like a feminine version of my dad. Which is not a bad thing because my dad is one handsome guy.
Anyway, enough said, I am not going to get myself in more hot water on this one! I love you both!

On the bridge

Last shot - we sure had some tired kids when we got home! We are still trying to make up for it today, getting back on track and all. We had so much fun with everyone. Thanks!

Action Shot

Grace is taking gymnastics for a few weeks this summer. She loves it! She is doing really well and I think it is giving her some more confidence and something she can do on her very own.

Happy Birthday to My Dad!

Happy Birthday to my Dad! I love you.

My dad is awesome. He is so funny and fun and we have always gotten along. And he is where I get all my good looks from....sorry Mom. Of course I don't have a beard, but you know.....I am definitely a Burgener. This is also a hint to Dad to COME VISIT US!!!! We love you!

Darth Lion

Invariably during the summer the kids find their Halloween costumes stashed in the closet and want to try them on. Here is Grace's version of Darth Lion.

We Love Where We Live

I haven't posted a lot this week because Mom and Keith are in town and we have been up camping. It is so beautiful - we are so lucky to live in such a gorgeous place. Why go anywhere else when you can drive 30 minutes from door to campground and be surrounded by this?

Trying to See the Silver Lining

My poor baby

So the kids are sick again. This has been the worst year for this so far. Usually by June we are doing pretty good, we rarely get sick in the summer and fall. I guess this year is the execption. Coughs all around, fevers for some, and last night Liam threw up - on the carpet, my worst nightmare. Even Adam has alleriges/cold, we're not really sure. What's worse is that Adam gags at even the slightest odor of vomit and so I clean up the worst of it. Wait....maybe this is like the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Raymond pretends not to be able to do things so Deborah ends up doing them for him. No.....he actually gags, I'm pretty sure he would throw up himself if he had to clean it up. Anyway, I am not sick so that is the silver lining, right? When momma ain't happy, nobody's happy.

For the Birds

Aunt Dianna gave us a great idea to try....bird feeders made from pinecones and peanut butter. We found some great pinecones at the park in Spanish Fork and decided to give it a try. I don't know if the birds will eat them, but they sure look yummy and we had fun making them!

Mikey Goes to Cat Heaven....Maybe

Another sad day for the pets in my family - Mom and Keith had to put Mikey (my cat) down today. Well I guess he was my cat until I went away to college, then Mom had to take care of him. Over the years he has gotten pretty cranky......I guess he has always been that way, he thought he was the king of the house. He was very old and I think he led a pretty pampered life. We loved you Mikey....even if you did hide behind the doors and swipe at us when we walked by.

Summer Fun

Ahhhhhh....SUMMER!

The Best Thing I Did Today

Today I solved a major issue between Liam and Grace. For a long time Grace has had a piece of material that she has used as a small "blankie" that she got from Grandma Linny's house. She wraps up her dolls in it and especially uses it at night to sleep and also when she's upset. Of course this means that Liam wants it as well and has been seen sneaking around the house with one of Grace's stuffed animals wrapped in the blanket. I don't know why it took me so long to do it, but I finally got out some material that I had in the closet and cut his own little doll blanket. And of course kids end up loving things that were never meant to be toys or really played with, these are pieces of material cut out with scissors, no sewing involved. I need to remember this come Christmas time! The only downfall is that the material is purple with flowers on it, but hey, he's only one! Also take note of the black Mary Janes - another thing of Grace's that Liam loves.

Two....Nine....

We played Hide and Seek for our Family Night activity....here is Liam counting.

So today seemed really long, I guess since Luke was home all day and there is no school. I just know the summer will fly by though. We are enjoying it while it lasts. Here's to sun, good books, and a sturdily built fort!
