Adam and I got back last night from our 10 year anniversary trip to San Diego. It was so much fun and so nice to relax together and enjoy the silence. Seriously, we just sat in the car with no music and just listened....to nothing. It was great. We went to the Gas Lamp district in downtown San Diego, to Tamarack, Corona Del Mar, and Mission Beach, SeaWorld, and the San Diego Temple. We drove up and down the coast and found some fun places to eat, and we even tried boogie boarding. It was pretty fun....and salty. I never realized how salty the ocean was. Yuck. Especially when you get a mouthful. But we had a blast and it was a great trip.

At Tamarack Beach

SeaWorld

Shamu - okay it wasn't actually Shamu, I think Shamu died a long time ago. But it was still pretty cool.

Someone else about to get splashed - thankfully we didn't get wet.

Okay I didn't mean to take a picture of the shark's private parts, but this was one of Adam's favorite exhibits - you get to walk in this tunnel and the sharks swim above you. Cool.

The dolphin show - one of my favorite shows.

The San Diego Temple was gorgeous - and just as pretty inside.

The beach at Corona del Mar - this was where we spent most of the day on Saturday and where I got folded into a pretzel in the ocean trying to boogie board. And let's be honest, you don't really want to see a picture of us in our swimsuits. (And we don't want to show you either.) I am pretty sure I was the whitest person there. But since we didn't know anyone, we didn't care.
And last, but certainly not least, we have to say THANK YOU a million times to Chad and Brenda who braved instant kidhood and watched our kids while we were relaxing. One thing's for sure, it was an experience, I'm just not sure whether they would say it was good or bad. Probably some of both. THANKS again you guys!
