Princess Grace

So here is Grace with Miss Kristi, her preschool teacher. She had her Halloween party yesterday and of course got a bag full of candy that she has been sneaking ever since. I am glad she wanted to be a princess this year, since she already has dress-ups we didn't have to buy anything!

Husband Tag

Okay I finally got around to doing this - thanks a lot Mandy!

1.Where did you meet your husband?
At the U, we lived in the same apartment complex, actually his room was directly below mine.
2.How long did you date before you got married?
Dating plus engagement = 8 months
3. How long have you been married?
10 years...can you believe it?
4. What does he do that suprises you?
I am with Mandy on this one - I am not really surprised by anything anymore. Everyonce in a LONG while he brings me flowers after I have had a break down. And he KNOWS I hate it when he doesn't call because I still get worried so I am surprised when he doesn't every once in a while. Okay so I guess I am surprised by a few things.
5. What is your favorite feature of his?
His bum...hee hee.
6. What is his best quality?
He is so patient - opposite of me! And a wonderful father - the kid's can't get enough of him.
7. Does he have a nickname for you? I am not mentioning anything that he calls me - too embarrassing.
8. What is his favorite food?
He loves fresh mex and of course chips and salsa. Anything salty.
9. What is his favorite sport?
I would have to say volleyball to play and watch and also football to watch -maybe only because I turn on the tv and then he is forced to look at it. And he loves mountain biking and also runs. (He made me add this.)
10. When and where did you first kiss?
We kissed outside his brother's house, I was leaving after ACCIDENTALLY spending the night there helping him babysit his neices and nephews. Really. We hadn't even really held hands that much or anything. He SAID he had a present for me and I had to close my eyes. Then BAM he laid one on me. I was completely shocked, not expecting it all at.
11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
This is a hard one, since everything we do is with the kids mostly. It is nice to have a date and just spend time together talking. Actually we do talk a lot at night when the kids go to bed.
12. Do you have any children?
3 very loud, very strong, very opinionated kids. Okay so I copied Mandy's answer but it is true. And one on the way.
13.Does he have any hidden talents?
I think he really could sing well if he WANTED to - he is always doing this opera voice which actually sounds pretty good. But once I said that he didn't have a very good voice and I will never live it down, so I don't think he would try.

Him. That was one of the things I loved about the whole situation - I was thinking "I am NOT going to be the one to say it first!" I didn't want to be desperate.

Probably U2 but he loves lots of different stuff.

Once again,his patience. And the fact that he can really talk to Luke, which I have a hard time doing.

I'm going to go with blue, since most of his shirts are, but he does love red. Go Utes!

Nice Weather

The weather has been so nice lately I got out the camera just for a few shots of the kids in the sunshine.

Liam Avoids Stitches...Barely

So Liam is our daredevil and definitely the most active of our children. He is, after all, 2. On Saturday he was driving in the blue convertible car (he can finally reach the pedals). He was doing great, going up and down the street while we watched with Aunt Julie and her boys. Then all of the sudden he drove full force right under the back of Julie's truck bed. Here is the end result. It didn't bleed too much, and after we wiped off the blood he wanted to get back in the car and go some more. We weren't sure if he needed a stitch or two on the little cut, it was kind of deep, so we opted for a butterfly bandage and that seems to have worked pretty well. Sometimes we call him "Nails" Maguillicutty because he is tough as nails.

Super Star

So this week at school Luke is the "Star Student". He had to make up this poster and of course, I tried to help. After all, I did pay for the pictures. He and I are a lot alike, he wants it his way, I want it mine. We ended up compromising, then later when I wasn't looking he added more things. Hence the arrows on Adam and my foreheads. I guess at some point I should just let him do it his own way, but it is so hard to let go. Click on the picture to see Luke's captions on each photo.
You can't see it but on the picture of the three kids with Liam's rasta hair, he wrote in Grace saying "Shampoo" and Liam saying "What are you guys doing?" It was pretty funny.

Carving Pumpkins

Well we finally decided to carve our pumpkins. It was lots of messy fun...for the kids. I did have fun carving my own pumpkin and Adam will carve his with the kids later. We couldn't wait any longer...the kids were so impatient to get them done!

Another Fashion Statement by Liam

Well I tried to get away with having Liam wear Luke's old socks, but as you can see, they are already pretty worn out and by the time Liam gets them they quickly turn into toe (and heel) socks. It reminds me of those gloves you wear for boxing without the fingers. I guess I should go get some new socks, ya think?

Pickin' Out Pumpkins

On Monday the kids were still on Fall Break, so Adam took the day off. We have a yearly tradition of going to the Red Barn down in Santaquin and picking out our pumkins. Last year the weather was horrible so we were so glad this weekend when it was gorgeous. You get to go on a wagon ride out to the pumpkin field and pick them out. The kids love roaming around and getting just the right one. The only rule is you have to be able to carry it around and back to the wagon when it comes to pick you up. I do not want to carry around 3 pumpkins, so usually they get small ones.

Fall Walk

Today was a perfect day to go on a nature walk on a nearby trail with some friends. The kids took bags along and collected colorful leaves. It was nice to get out and enjoy the fall weather. (Click on the pictures to get a closer look.)

I guess Adam was talking too much for Liam's taste.

Of course the two little boys were trying to be daredevils on the bridge by letting go.
Our friends were so nice to take a new family picture which amazingly turned out very well. These are rare so enjoy!

Heartburn

Everything is looking good at my monthly doctor's visits. Basically all they are doing is checking the heartbeat, and it's still there, so that's good. Of course I have crazy heartburn, but because I had it so bad with Liam I already for the most part what I can and can't eat. Here are some things I will have to wait until April to eat again...

Okay so basically anything Italian or that has Italian seasoning in it, I don't know what it is, garlic is okay, onions are okay, but something in the Italians seasoning just gets me. Maybe it is the basil or oregano. Who knows...all I know is to stay away from it. And I'm not really sure about tomatoes plain but I am too afraid to try one for fear of the aftermath.

Happy 7th Birthday to Luke!

So my lack of posting is due in part to my "pregnancy brain" or lack thereof. I left my camera at my aunt's house when we had Patrick's going away party/ Luke's family birthday party. So I haven't been able to post my pictures. ANYWAY, Happy 7th Birthday to our Lukie boy! He is getting so big, I can't believe it. We love him so much, he is our detail oriented (when he wants to be) smart, funny, wonderful boy.

This year Luke wanted a Bionicle cake, so this is the mask of Tahu. The big black circle is the mouth. It really DOES look like it, I just do what they want.....

Liam beating Luke to the blowing out of the candles, he was a little miffed about this. It is so hard when you have younger ones that want to open all the presents and blow out the candles. All in all, Luke was a great sport about it, he got lots of toys and he has so many wonderful friends and family who love and support him so much. What more can you ask for?

Picture Tag

Who came up with this tag anyway? Basically it's drop everything and take a picture of these certain things, WITHOUT cleaning up. Okay so I cheated. Are you kidding me? BUT I only cheated on one - and it's the first one.

1. The Kitchen Sink - This was so bad, I really couldn't NOT clean it up. I mean, it was BAD. And it's still not even all the way clean now! My excuse is after I made dinner I got a hideous case of heartburn and basically did nothing else except moan and groan on the couch. So at least I cleaned up dinner, or most of it. Okay I will stop making excuses now, I cleaned up, and there's nothing any of you can do about it!

2. Your Favorite Room - I like our front room because I rarely have to clean it. The kids aren't allowed to play in here and it's pretty relaxing to me.

3. The fridge - looks like everyone else's, I just went shopping or you could really see all the gross stuff on the shelves.

4. My closet - My closet is a weird shape and not huge, I couldn't even back up enough to show the floor, which is covered in a pile of shoes, in case you were wondering.

5. The Laundry Room - It has been worse....much, much worse.

6. Self Portrait - This is a little scary - I think I have had this hat on in every picture taken of me lately. I guess I have been having a lot of bad hair days.

7. What Are Your Kids Doing? Grace was having a little picnic on the dining room floor with her stuffed animal, Binky.

8. Favorite shoes - These are my favorite because they make me feel pretty.

9. Bathroom - There is a catch on this one - Mandy's tag just said bathroom so I picked the one that was the cleanest. So sue me. This is the kid's bathroom.

Back to the Future?

Thanks to Grandma Pam who gave Luke these 3-D books and glasses a few years ago. The kids are still enjoying them, as you can tell. Well, maybe you can't tell by the look on Luke's face, but the other two were loving it.

The Conference Bucket

Every Conference I make up a bucket with fun new things for the kids to do only during Conference. Color Wonder stuff is a must since the kids are all over the living room. Who ever invented this should be sainted. We also get treats that they don't normally get to have and hand them out after each session. The kids love it and it makes it more fun for them... and for us.
p.s. You can see my beautiful pears behind Luke.....I am so proud.

Canning

Someday I will teach my kids how to can pears, peaches and grape juice. For now, they will have to settle for having lots of fun with cousins and grandma on our "canning day". This year Dianna, Marylinn and I got together and did our pears. It was crazy! Definitely an all day event - from 11 am to 8 pm. But we got it done. We were a little sticky afterwards....okay a lot sticky, but it is so worth it to see all the beautiful jars of fruit done on your counter. The kids had fun hanging out with Seth and Noah and it was so nice to have someone to share all the work with. Now all we have to do is enjoy the "fruits" of our labor...ha ha ha.
